internets

internets
1. (Internets) (1365↑, 203↓)
The term, Internets, is used only when referring to the uber-secret internet used only by Government and Bush cronies, thus plural. Dear Reader, the internet you are now on is not the secondary one but the primary one invented by Al Gore. You are on the internet versus the internets.

"I hear there's rumors on the internets..." --George W. Bush at the Presidential Debate

2. (internets) (1037↑, 99↓)
Something President Push hears rumors on. It is suspected that these internets are hidden from the rest of the world, cause we can only find one so far.

"I hear that there are rumors on the...uh...internets..." -Bush

3. (internets) (576↑, 101↓)
George W Bush's name for the internet. It's mentioned in one of the other definitions on this page that his usage is correct. This is purely accidental. Coming from someone who was frighteningly intelligent and a brilliant orator, one might be tempted to give him the benefit of the doubt. But coming from someone who is profoundly unable to form sentences, say 'nuclear', ride bikes, ride Segways or eat pretzels, it's safe to assume that this is just another in a long line of oratorical train wrecks for poor old Bush Jr.

orig.: 'I hear there's rumors on the internets..' contemp.: 'lol internets'

4. (internets) (272↑, 63↓)
the currency used on the internets.

'i paid bob twenty internets because he posted a pic of epic lulz'

5. (internets) (251↑, 84↓)
A term used by George W. Bush when he actually had meant to say "Internet": While it's true that there exists an Internet2, there is no plausible reason to believe that Bush was referring to it, because I have no reason to believe that he is sufficiently technologically literate to be aware of its accidents and (more importantly), Internet2 is used solely as a network with which academic institutions transfer files at extremely high speeds and would therefore not have information about Bush's alleged millitary service foul play.

On the, on the internets

6. (internets) (121↑, 71↓)
See: [serious business]

The internets raped my house, stole my wife, and burned my dog. I'm off to commit [pseuicide].

7. (internets) (123↑, 83↓)
Somthing that the average joe will never know of. Used only by the secret service and its commanders, the Internets is a top secret way of transfering information around the globe at the speed of light. George W. Bush thought of the idea after consuming a high amount of Coke and Pepsi together, while watching porn on the "Internet"

Bush: Hmmmmmmm, The Internet is too untrustworthy. I must create somthing more powerful............. The Internets\!

8. (internets) (45↑, 25↓)
A web site mocking President Bush's gaffe in a CNBC interview, calling Google, "the Google". In the 2000 Presidential Primary debates he refers to the Internet as "Internets" saying, "There's rumors on the Internets" in response to a question. Video here: youtube.com/watch?v=fezjR zAWa2Q. The web site is: thegoogleontheinternets.com. "I use the Google to pull up maps. I like see the ranch" -George W. Bush.

"I hear there's rumors on the Internets." -George W. Bush.

9. (internets) (23↑, 11↓)
It's a series of tubes.

The internets is not something you can just dump something on, it's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes.

10. (Internets) (9↑, 2↓)
Something that George W Bush hears rumors on

I hear there's rumors on the, uh, Internets

11. (internets) (4↑, 4↓)
"Internets" is an expression, written in September 1999 inside of the 'Metro' newspaper (published in Czech Republic), by Věra Pohlová. She said "Tyhle aféry každého jenom otravují. Já bych všechny ty internety a počítače zakázala." ("These affair only bother everyone. I would disallow all those internets and computers.") as an opinion on an affair, about leaking private data from the 'Česká spořitelna' bank trough an internet.

I would disallow all those internets\! I would disallow all those \<fill in anything\!\>

12. (internets) (13↑, 13↓)
The possessive form of the word internet; An internet that appears to belong to an individual.

I hax ur internets, n00b. Jerry, get off your internets and do some damn work.

13. (internets) (7↑, 8↓)
Jack Black uses this term to describe his precious valuable work.

His rant on piracy can be found on YouTube, where he says the following: "Look, super mega rock and roll gods and superstars are just regular dudes like you guys... we punch the clock, we put on the pants, and then we blow people's minds, it's how we make a living\! ... AND THEN THESE PIRATES COME, AND THEY STEAL ALL OUR INTERNETS\!"

14. (internets) (37↑, 61↓)
in response to the "internets" being correct. From your own source www.internet2.org "Internet2 is a consortium being led by 207 universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop and deploy advanced network applications and technologies, accelerating the creation of tomorrow's Internet. Internet2 is recreating the partnership among academia, industry and government that fostered today´s Internet in its infancy. The primary goals of Internet2 are to: * Create a leading edge network capability for the national research community * Enable revolutionary Internet applications * Ensure the rapid transfer of new network services and applications to the broader Internet community. " by that definition it is not a seperate network from the current internet, but rather a collective working to make the current internet better. It would be ridicoulos to not run this over existing network lines. They are one in the same, and your proof debunked it's self.

"I heard some universities are making a new internet" "Not really, just working to improve the one we have."

15. (internets) (14↑, 53↓)
The word internets is plural for internet. See my entry for [internet].

Person 1: Look at these people [E-fight]ing on the [BBS]. Person 2: Fucking internets.

16. (internets) (65↑, 104↓)
A term originally used to mock [Bush], but has degraded into a word [hipsters] use in an attempt to make themselves sound cooler. People who use the word are the peope who also use [teh] and [le] because quite simply they saw everyone else doing it. This also goes for [teh internets], the typed form of the word in which [the] is intentionally mistyped, so they can make themselves look like the largest douchebags possible.

Hipster: I was surfing the internets at starbucks... Person: Shut up, you are a douchebag.

17. (internets) (25↑, 79↓)
George Bush's new name for the Internet, if you ask me he said it that way on purpose to keep his old and traditional guy image. Thank God he didn't say "intranet" or "interweb"

Does the fact that it's "internets" make it the sequel to Al Gore's internet?

18. (internets) (86↑, 373↓)
The term "internets" was used by [George W. Bush] to correctly refer to the two existing internets: [internet] and internet2. Internet2 is used by educational institutions for high-bandwith data transfers where as the first internet -- the one usually used by the average person -- is best-known for its hypertext protocol. Ignorant media made fun of Bush for using the plural of internet not realizing that the joke was on them. They should have done more research by visiting www.internet2.org

I hear there's rumors on the internets... --George W. Bush referring to the two actually existing internets
